On the evening of April 3, Ukrainian Air Forces reported a significant attack involving enemy drones, resulting in the neutralization of 260 out of 286 drones launched by the aggressor.
According to information provided by Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Air Force has released data regarding a large-scale attack by enemy drones that occurred on the evening of April 3. The enemy launched an assault using 286 strike UAVs, including models such as Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others. The attack was directed from multiple locations, including Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Notably, around 200 of these drones were of the Shahed type.
To repel the aerial assault, various units of Ukraine's Defense Forces were engaged, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems. Mobile fire groups also played an active role in destroying enemy targets, which helped reduce the threat to Ukrainian airspace.
As of 07:00 on Saturday, April 4, preliminary data indicated that Ukrainian air defense had managed to destroy or suppress 260 enemy drones across various regions of Ukraine — the north, south, east, and central parts of the country. It was reported that 11 strike UAVs were hit at 10 different locations, and debris from downed drones fell at 6 sites, highlighting the active efforts of Ukrainian air defense forces.
The attack is still ongoing, with approximately 20 enemy drones remaining in the airspace, suggesting a continued threat from the aggressor. In light of this, Ukrainian forces are continuing their efforts to repel attacks and ensure the safety of the airspace.
Furthermore, as reported by Ukrinform, in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, Ukrzaliznytsia was forced to announce security stops for trains due to the detection of aerial targets, leading to the evacuation of passengers. This underscores the seriousness of the situation and the necessity of taking measures to protect the civilian population.
