Ukrainian Defense Forces Strike Key Russian Infrastructure on Night of April 5

In a significant escalation of military operations, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a series of attacks on crucial Russian infrastructure during the night of April 5, targeting military and economic capabilities of the aggressor nation.

During the night of April 5, the Ukrainian Defense Forces executed a series of strikes on vital Russian infrastructure, marking a substantial blow to the military and economic strength of the aggressor country. Notably, the attacks targeted the Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery located in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation. This information was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The assault resulted in a massive fire at the refinery, indicating severe damage to its infrastructure. The Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez facility holds strategic importance for Russia's oil refining sector, as it supplies fuel to the critically important Moscow region, which consumes nearly 30% of the country's gasoline. The production capacity of this facility reaches 17 million tons of raw materials per year, underscoring its significance for the Russian economy and military.

The refinery produces over 50 types of products, including aviation and diesel fuel, which are supplied for the needs of the Russian military-industrial complex and to support occupying forces. Thus, a strike on this facility could significantly impact the logistics and fuel supply for Russian military formations.

Moreover, the General Staff confirmed that the attack also caused a fire in the infrastructure of the Primorsk port on the Baltic Sea. This port is one of the largest in Russia involved in the transportation of petroleum products, and its damage could lead to significant difficulties in resource transportation.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces targeted a storage facility for aviation equipment located in Saky, in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. This indicates a continuation of strategic operations aimed at destroying the enemy's military infrastructure.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces also struck concentrations of Russian troops in the areas of Berezove and Novomykolaivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as in Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region and Yalynske in the Donetsk region. These strikes demonstrated the effectiveness of the Ukrainian military in eliminating enemy forces and assets.

On the night of April 5, in the city of Kstovo, located near Nizhny Novgorod, a fire broke out in the local industrial zone following a drone attack. This area is home to one of the largest oil refining sites in the region. Explosions were heard over Kstovo during the night, after which a large fire was recorded in the industrial zone. Local social media and Russian media reported on the operation of air defense systems and the fire that occurred near the oil refinery.

Thus, the series of attacks by the Ukrainian military on important Russian infrastructure signifies the growing effectiveness and determination of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in countering aggression from Russia. These actions could significantly impact the military capabilities of the adversary and its ability to conduct combat operations.
