Ukrainian Drone Forces Destroy Russian Buk-M1 Air Defense System in Luhansk Region

According to information provided by Ukrinform, Commander of the Drone Forces (SBS) Robert 'Madyar' Brovdi reported on a successful operation that took place on the night of April 3. In his Facebook post, he shared a video demonstrating the combat operations of the drones.

'The birds of the 9th Battalion 'Kairós' of the 414th Separate Brigade 'Madyar's Birds' detected and destroyed a self-propelled medium-range air defense system, the Buk-M1, in the area of Lyubymivka, located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region,' Brovdi noted, emphasizing the significance of this achievement for Ukrainian forces.

The Commander of SBS explained that the Buk-M1 is a Soviet-era air defense system designed to combat maneuverable aerodynamic targets, particularly at very low altitudes starting from 30 meters. The destruction of this system was made possible by a drone equipped with a warhead weighing between 60 to 100 kg, indicating a high level of technological preparedness among Ukrainian military personnel.

In addition to destroying the air defense system, Ukrainian forces also struck fuel tanks in the area of Shchotove, as well as logistics warehouses in Valyanyivka, located in the temporarily occupied part of the Luhansk region. These actions are part of a broader operation aimed at dismantling the logistical capabilities of Russian troops.

According to information obtained from Ukrinform, Ukrainian Defense Forces also launched strikes on logistics and ammunition warehouses, an oil depot, and areas of concentration of Russian army personnel in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions on the night of April 3. These strikes are part of Ukraine's efforts to bolster its defense capabilities and reduce the military potential of the enemy.

It is worth noting that drone systems are playing an increasingly important role in modern warfare, allowing for precise strikes with minimal risks to personnel. Operations like this demonstrate the effectiveness of Ukrainian military forces in utilizing cutting-edge technologies to achieve strategic objectives.
