Ukrainian Drone Forces Strike Key Russian Military Assets in Occupied Territories
Ukrainian Armed Forces' drone units have successfully targeted two significant Russian military installations in temporarily occupied territories, according to a report from Ukrinform.
According to a report from Ukrinform, the drone forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have successfully struck two critical Russian military assets located in temporarily occupied territories. This information was shared on the official Facebook page of the AFU's drone forces.
Specifically, in Feodosia, operators from the 9th Battalion 'Kairós' of the 414th Separate Brigade 'Birds of Madyar' executed a successful strike on a radar station that is part of the S-400 system. This radar station has the capability to track targets at a distance of up to 600 kilometers, simultaneously guiding up to 100 objects and directing as many as 72 missiles. It can be deployed in just five minutes and typically changes its position before it can be detected. Despite being a complex target, it proved to be within reach of our operators.
Additionally, operators from the 1st Separate Drone Center of the AFU also successfully hit the Tor missile defense system in the Donetsk region. This system is a vital component of the Russian military's air defense network, and its destruction significantly diminishes the enemy's capabilities in countering Ukrainian drones.
Furthermore, in the Luhansk region, a radar station designed for drone detection was struck, which can identify unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from a distance of up to 20 kilometers. This station guides the operators of anti-aircraft drones, whose positions are located 2 to 5 kilometers away. Without this radar station, Russian anti-aircraft units are effectively left 'blind' and unable to respond effectively to aerial threats.
Also in Luhansk, a ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft installation mounted on an MT-LB was destroyed. This installation is utilized by Russian forces as a short-range air defense system to combat Ukrainian drones. The destruction of this asset further weakens the enemy's air defense.
All these operations were conducted in close coordination with the Deep Strikes Center, demonstrating a high level of coordination and effectiveness in the actions of Ukrainian forces. This highlights the ongoing progress of the AFU in utilizing drone technology to achieve military objectives.
Earlier, Ukrinform reported significant results from strikes on two launch bases for Shahed-type drones located in Navlya and at the Khalino airfield in the Bryansk and Kursk regions of Russia. These strikes further intensify pressure on Russian military forces and their capabilities.
