Sybiga: Russian Fake News is Acknowledgment of Ukraine's Success in Gulf Countries

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiga has stated that Russia's dissemination of fake information reflects its acknowledgment of Ukraine's achievements on the international stage, particularly in strengthening ties with Gulf nations.

In a recent address on social media platform X, reported by the Ukrinform news agency, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiga highlighted that Russia, expressing concern over Ukraine's rapid strengthening of relations with Gulf countries, has resorted to spreading false information. According to Sybiga, this behavior signifies Moscow's recognition of Ukraine's successes on the international front.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy emphasized that officials in Moscow are 'extremely upset' by how quickly Ukraine is establishing cooperation with Gulf nations, especially in light of Iranian aerial threats. Sybiga believes that Russia is aware that Ukraine's unique experience has significantly altered its role in the region, prompting the Kremlin to utilize propaganda to undermine Ukraine's positive image.

“They are spreading fake news about Ukrainian experts being harmed, that Ukraine is not fulfilling its obligations, and so on. We expect more such nonsense in the coming weeks,” the minister noted, underscoring that these actions by Russia are indicative of its impotence in the face of Ukraine's achievements.

Sybiga also expressed confidence that Russian propaganda will not succeed, as Ukraine's partners in the Gulf fully understand how the country is supporting the development of modern, high-tech, and economically efficient defense systems. He emphasized that President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Gulf nations laid a solid foundation for years of mutually beneficial cooperation.

“We perceive this Russian disinformation campaign as evidence that Moscow acknowledges Ukraine's success and its own failure,” the Foreign Minister stressed, demonstrating confidence in the continued development of cooperation between Ukraine and Gulf countries.

It is worth noting that earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the active work of the Ukrainian diplomatic team on collaboration with Middle Eastern and Gulf countries interested in Ukraine's experience in defending against modern drones. This initiative reflects Ukraine's desire to strengthen its position on the international stage and enhance security levels in the region.
