Svyrydenko: About 50% of Current Repairs on International Roads Completed

On Sunday, April 1, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the current repair work on international roads in Ukraine is nearing completion, with approximately 50% of the planned work already done.

On Sunday, April 1, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the current repair work on international roads in Ukraine is nearing completion. She noted that as of today, about 50% of the planned work has been completed, with all efforts focused on finishing by May 1, and major works by June 1.

Svyrydenko shared this information through her Telegram profile, emphasizing the importance of completing repairs to support international transportation links. She also pointed out that work is being conducted not only on international highways but also on public roads, which is a crucial aspect for ensuring safety and convenience for travel across the country.

“Every day, nearly 170 crews and over 1,500 workers are operating throughout Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year, 2.7 million square meters of damage have already been eliminated,” the Prime Minister reported. This figure indicates the active efforts of road services striving to quickly restore infrastructure that has been affected by various factors, including military actions.

It is worth noting that on March 23, Svyrydenko had already informed about the elimination of over 1 million square meters of damage at that time, marking the highest figure in the last six years. This demonstrates that the Ukrainian government is actively engaged in restoring road infrastructure, which is critically important for the economy and security of the country.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that special attention is being paid to repairing roads that ensure frontline logistics. She reported that in coordination with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, units of the State Special Transport Service will begin repairs in a 30-kilometer zone from the combat line. This decision is an important step in supporting the military and meeting their logistical needs.

“We will allocate an additional 1.5 billion UAH for this. The list of roads has already been agreed upon with the military. The government has already allocated 3 billion UAH from the reserve fund. In addition, 12.6 billion UAH is allocated in the budget for 2026 for the repair and maintenance of roads,” Svyrydenko added. These financial resources will become an important tool for further restoration and support of infrastructure, which is key to the country's development amid modern challenges.
