Ukrainian Prime Minister Iryna Svyrydenko has announced significant changes in fuel prices across the country, revealing that the state-owned network Ukrnafta has begun reducing prices at its gas stations. This positive development comes as a result of declining quotations on major exchanges, which directly impact fuel costs in Ukraine.
In a message shared via Telegram, Svyrydenko reported on the outcomes of a meeting with the chairman of Naftogaz of Ukraine, where current trends in global oil and petroleum product markets were discussed. She stated, "We are observing a decrease in quotations on major exchanges, which should directly influence fuel prices in Ukraine." This statement underscores the government's proactive approach to managing fuel costs amid fluctuating global markets.
Svyrydenko emphasized that if the current dynamics in global markets persist, a more substantial reduction in fuel prices can be expected. She expressed hope that other market participants would also respond to the changes in price conditions. "The market should fairly react to changes in price conditions," she added, highlighting the importance of competitive pricing in the fuel sector.
Additionally, the Prime Minister reassured citizens that the availability of fuel in Ukraine is currently stable. She noted that in March 2023, record volumes of fuel supplies were secured, marking the highest levels in the past five years, and similar dynamics are anticipated for April. This stability is crucial for consumers and the economy as a whole, especially in light of recent price fluctuations.
It is worth noting that on April 7, 2023, the average price of A-95 gasoline increased by 13 kopecks to 73.07 UAH per liter, while the price of diesel fuel rose by 42 kopecks, reaching 90.12 UAH per liter. These changes indicate the market's activity and its sensitivity to shifts in global pricing trends, reflecting the interconnectedness of local and international markets.
Citizens can stay informed about fuel price updates through various information channels, including Telegram, Instagram, and YouTube, where the government provides timely data and news regarding the fuel market situation. This transparency is part of the government's effort to keep the public informed and engaged, ensuring that consumers are aware of pricing changes as they occur.
