Svyrydenko said bipartisan support in the US Congress remains critically important for Ukraine and thanked lawmakers for their consistent backing and steadfast position. She said the talks focused on preserving and strengthening support for Ukraine, particularly in the areas of security, financial assistance and sanctions pressure on Russia. “We outlined Ukraine’s key defense needs, with our top priority now being protection against Russian ballistic missiles,” Svyrydenko said. “Our ability to get through the next winter, protect our people, and safeguard our energy system depends upon it.” Svyrydenko said Ukraine is seeking a just and lasting peace, and stressed that one of the key tools for achieving it is increased pressure on Russia. “Sanctions are already reducing the potential of Russia’s war machine, and this pressure must only increase,” she said, arguing that it is critical to restrict the supply of components used in weapons production and steadily reduce Russia’s revenues from oil and gas exports. At the same time, she said, Ukraine is offering partners some of the most advanced defense solutions and unique military experience in applying them. She described Ukrainian technologies as tools developed specifically for modern warfare, tested in real combat conditions and constantly improved.
