Swiridenko: Agreement Reached with Heads of Parliamentary Committees to Include Urgent Bills in Agenda

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Swiridenko held a significant meeting with the heads of the Verkhovna Rada committees, reaching an agreement to include urgent bills in the parliamentary agenda, a crucial move amid the current economic situation.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Swiridenko conducted an important meeting with the leaders of the committees of the Verkhovna Rada, during which an agreement was reached to include urgent bills in the agenda that have mutual understanding among the parties involved. This initiative is part of the government's efforts to secure stable international financing for Ukraine, which is critical given the current economic circumstances.

Swiridenko emphasized that to continue the reforms necessary for obtaining funding under the Ukraine Facility program and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program, Ukraine must complete its 'homework.' She highlighted that both parliament and government play key roles in this process, as their joint efforts are essential for success.

“We discussed with the Members of Parliament the key provisions necessary for continuing reforms, fulfilling our obligations to partners, and further advancing the Euro-Integration course,” Swiridenko wrote on her Telegram channel, summarizing the outcomes of the meeting.

The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to the deputies for their constructive dialogue and their readiness to work together on important decisions for the state. She underscored that collaboration between the government and parliament is critically important for achieving success in implementing reforms.

“We agreed that urgent bills, for which there is understanding, will be added to the agenda. We will also continue consultations on other documents that are causing discussions,” she added, pointing to the importance of further work on legislative initiatives that may be contentious.

This meeting took place against the backdrop of increasing demands on Ukraine to implement reforms necessary for receiving international financial support. Amid war and economic instability, the country faces numerous challenges, and the swift adoption of urgent bills could be a crucial step toward stabilizing the situation.

Swiridenko also noted that the government will continue to work on improving conditions for business and investment, which, in turn, will contribute to economic growth. She expressed hope that joint efforts with the deputies will allow for quicker implementation of the necessary changes in legislation, positively impacting the country's economy.

Thus, the Prime Minister's meeting with the heads of the Verkhovna Rada committees became an important step towards activating legislative work and ensuring stable financing for Ukraine amid the ongoing crisis.
