Ukrainian Prime Minister Swiridenko Reaches Agreement with MPs on Tax Legislation Vote

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Swiridenko has confirmed that she has successfully negotiated with members of parliament to bring key tax legislation to a vote, marking a significant step for ongoing reforms in Ukraine.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Swiridenko has announced via her Telegram channel that she has successfully reached an agreement with members of parliament regarding the voting on crucial tax legislation. This decision is seen as an important step towards continuing reforms in Ukraine, fulfilling commitments to international partners, and advancing the country's European integration agenda.

In her message, Swiridenko stated, "We discussed with members of parliament the key provisions necessary for the continuation of reforms, meeting our obligations to partners, and furthering the European integration course. I thank the members of parliament for their dialogue and readiness to work together on important decisions for the state."

She also emphasized that a consensus has been achieved with the heads of parliamentary committees regarding the urgent inclusion of these legislative proposals on the agenda. This indicates that there is an understanding on certain issues that require immediate resolution. However, consultations on other documents that are still under debate will continue, reflecting the government's openness to dialogue.

The Prime Minister underscored the importance of completing the "homework" needed to ensure stable international financing. She pointed out that for reforms to continue, particularly within the framework of the Ukraine Facility program and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program, Ukraine must work collaboratively with parliament to implement the planned changes.

It is worth noting that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has already approved and submitted three separate legislative proposals related to tax changes to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament. However, the issue of implementing VAT for individual entrepreneurs under the simplified taxation system is still under discussion, which has raised concerns among business owners.

These legislative proposals are crucial for stabilizing the country's economy, as they could impact the financial capacity of businesses and ensure additional budget revenues. In the context of ongoing war and economic crisis, such changes could be critically important for restoring economic stability in Ukraine.

Swiridenko also called on MPs for constructive collaboration, emphasizing that effective cooperation between the government and parliament is the key to successfully implementing reforms. She expressed hope that the deputies would support the proposed initiatives, allowing Ukraine to continue its course towards European integration and stable economic development.
