The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has made a significant decision regarding financial support for families raising children with group A disabilities. According to Prime Minister Yulia Swiridenko, 8,700 such families will receive a one-time payment of 6,500 UAH, made possible through the support of UNICEF.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved an important decision concerning financial assistance for families raising children with group A disabilities. Prime Minister Yulia Swiridenko announced that 8,700 such families will receive a one-time payment of 6,500 UAH. This initiative is made possible thanks to the support from UNICEF, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in addressing social issues.
Prime Minister Swiridenko shared this information on her Telegram channel following a government meeting on Wednesday. She emphasized that the government continues to support families with children who have group A disabilities, and this decision is part of a broader assistance program aimed at meeting basic needs and daily care for these children.
In total, 56.6 million UAH of donor aid will be allocated for the implementation of this project. These funds are designated for one-time payments to families in need of financial support. Swiridenko underscored that this targeted assistance is a result of collaboration with UNICEF in providing humanitarian and other forms of aid to the civilian population.
According to information provided by the Prime Minister, over 8,700 families will receive this assistance across nine regions of Ukraine, including Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. This indicates that support will be provided not only in central areas but also in regional communities where the need for assistance is particularly pressing.
Swiridenko also noted that out of the total amount of 56.6 million UAH, nearly 49.9 million UAH has been received as the primary donor resource within this collaboration. The remaining 6.7 million UAH consists of donor funds that were previously mobilized as humanitarian assistance, as well as resources from the special fund of the state budget. This underscores the critical importance of support from international partners during these challenging times.
The Prime Minister further informed that the payments will be made through the Pension Fund to the bank accounts of recipients within a few months. She added that for many families raising children with group A disabilities, this assistance will provide significant support in covering daily needs. This decision represents an important step towards ensuring social justice and supporting vulnerable segments of the population.
Thus, the Ukrainian government demonstrates its readiness to respond to the needs of society, especially in conditions where many families are facing financial difficulties due to various circumstances. Collaboration with international organizations such as UNICEF helps ensure the necessary support for those who need it most.
