The United States has demonstrated its resolve in conducting rescue operations, mobilizing more than 150 aircraft to rescue the second pilot of an F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet that was shot down over Iran. According to reports from Ukrinform, CBS News provided this information based on informed sources.
On Thursday evening, after an Iranian surface-to-air missile struck the fighter jet, approximately 20 aircraft were dispatched to evacuate the two crew members. Following the crash of the F-15E Strike Eagle, the rescue operation involved 12 American fighter jets, five rescue aircraft, and four planes tasked with suppressing enemy communications, reconnaissance, and surveillance missions.
Additionally, several American units stationed in the region participated in this operation, including U.S. Navy SEALs, U.S. Air Force Special Operations Forces, search and rescue services, and combat medics. This reflects a high level of coordination and readiness among American military forces to conduct complex rescue missions in hazardous conditions.
The first pilot, identified by the call sign Dude 44A, was successfully rescued on Friday, marking a significant step in ensuring the safety of the crew. However, the rescue of the second crew member, known by the call sign Dude 44B, required even greater mobilization of resources. On Saturday, the Pentagon intensified rescue operations, deploying over 150 aircraft, including 64 fighter jets, four bombers, 48 refueling aircraft, 13 rescue planes, and 26 aircraft for reconnaissance and electronic warfare.
In total, more than 200 munitions were utilized during this rescue operation, underscoring the seriousness of the situation and the necessity of ensuring the safety of American military personnel. These actions were confirmed by U.S. President Donald Trump, who stated that American forces successfully rescued the second crew member of the fighter jet, affirming the effectiveness and determination of the U.S. armed forces in fulfilling their duties.
This incident highlights not only the military might of the United States but also the complexity of the situation in the region, where tensions between the U.S. and Iran remain high. American military forces continue to conduct operations in this strategically important area, demonstrating their readiness to respond to threats.
