US Ignores Evidence of Russian Support to Iran in Striking American Bases in the Middle East - Zelensky

During a recent podcast, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed concern over the United States' disregard for evidence indicating a close collaboration between Moscow and Tehran, which he believes poses serious risks to the safety of American military bases in the region.

As reported by Ukrinform, during Alistair Campbell's podcast The Rest is Politics, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky voiced his alarm regarding the United States' apparent neglect of evidence showcasing the tight cooperation between Russia and Iran. According to the president, this collaboration could have significant implications for the security of American military installations in the Middle East.

Zelensky pointed out that Russian military satellites have been photographing critical infrastructure in Gulf countries and Israel, as well as the locations of American military bases. He stated that the Kremlin has been sharing this data and imagery with the Iranian regime to facilitate attacks on these targets.

"I have said this publicly. Have we heard any response from the US to Russia demanding that they cease this? The problem is that they trust Putin. And that is regrettable," Zelensky emphasized, showcasing his concern regarding the American administration's approach to the situation.

The Ukrainian president also noted that the team of former US President Donald Trump failed to "truly understand what Russia wants." When asked about the reasons for this misunderstanding, Zelensky responded that two of Trump's negotiators, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, "spent too much time" with Putin and his high-ranking officials, which may have influenced their perception of the situation.

Zelensky asserted that he understands Putin's psychology and his true military objectives better than representatives of the White House. He added that Putin will not stop at seizing Donbas and will subsequently attempt to expand his territorial ambitions to regional centers such as Dnipro and Kharkiv.

"We must acknowledge that Americans partly believe that (Donbas - ed.) means nothing to us. They do not want to recognize that Putin will lie to them and that he can continue the occupation even after such steps. Americans are confident that they can trust Putin," Zelensky highlighted, pointing to the issues in perceiving threats from Russia.

According to information provided by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky also stated that Russia has provided Iran with satellite intelligence on 50-53 energy system facilities in Israel, further underscoring the danger that this collaboration poses to American interests in the region.

This situation raises concerns not only in Ukraine but also globally, as potential attacks on American bases could lead to an escalation of conflict in the region. The ongoing cooperation between Russia and Iran could have serious consequences for global security.
