Sports as a Foundation for Social Support: BETON's Partnership with Regional Clubs

Sports have long transcended mere competition, fostering social connections and creating a sense of community. This is exemplified by the partnership between BETON and regional clubs, which underlines the importance of local sports in shaping future champions.

Sports have long played a significantly broader role than just competition. They support social ties, create shared emotions, and foster a friendly environment. This is why an increasing number of businesses are supporting both large professional clubs and local sports, which often serve as the foundation for developing future champions.

One example of this partnership model is the collaboration between the BETON brand and regional clubs, federations, and sports initiatives. The company's sports sponsorship strategy is built around the idea of a sports ecosystem: from amateur leagues to the professional arena, which has become part of a long-term vision.

Roman Balashov, CEO of SITIKOD, which operates under the BETON brand, emphasizes that supporting regional clubs is primarily about working where resources are limited, but the motivation of the people is significantly stronger.

For most regional teams, the main challenge remains stability. Organizing matches, traveling to tournaments, equipping teams, working with the media, or even basic infrastructure requires constant resources. This is why there is an increasing discussion in the sports community about the need for systematic partnerships between clubs and businesses.

In the regions, such an approach can have a tangible effect. Even small changes, such as quality broadcasts of matches, active social media engagement, or modern changing rooms, can significantly increase interest in the team and attract new fans.

One example of how a local club successfully develops partnerships is FC Lopatyn from the eponymous village in Lviv Oblast, which has long ceased to be just a sports section. In small towns, sports have a different dynamic than in megacities. Here, budgets are significantly smaller, infrastructure is limited, and there is much more dependence on the support of partners. Moreover, developing sports in the regions is much more challenging.

This is why partnerships with businesses often become a decisive factor for such clubs, helping them grow and build plans for the future. The collaboration between FC Lopatyn and BETON has allowed the club to implement several important projects, the next being the arrangement of changing rooms in Lopatyn.

A local tournament that brought together fans and promoted the development of sports culture in the region was a significant event for the entire team.

In regional sports, such stories are not exceptions. In many cities, teams effectively serve as local institutions: fan communities, volunteer initiatives, and even cultural events form around them. At the same time, this level of sports acutely feels the lack of resources, both financial and organizational. Clubs themselves understand this well. For them, partnerships with businesses often mean the opportunity to view the development of the team more broadly.

Vasyl Maksymiv, executive director of the futsal club Alliance, states that for regional teams today, the key task is simply to stay afloat and continue to develop.

According to Maksymiv, regional sports are always forced to compete with larger cities, where there is more infrastructure, resources, and opportunities for athletes. This is why collaboration with partners becomes a determining factor for clubs. Besides financial support, the most valuable aspect of such interaction is the new experience and vision.

Collaboration with BETON, says Maksymiv, has become such a catalyst for the club's development.

At the same time, the role of local clubs is not limited to just sports results. For many people, a match of their local team is primarily about the emotions that unite the community.

This emotional connection with the audience is well understood at the volleyball club Epicenter-Podolany, which represents the Khmelnytskyi region at the national level. The club's sports director, Kostiantyn Riabukha, states that for small towns, a professional team often becomes a symbol of the region, uniting people around a common goal.

However, the development of local sports has its objective limitations. The sports director adds that this is why partnerships between clubs and businesses in modern Ukrainian sports are becoming increasingly systematic.

Ultimately, behind every large arena and loud title lies a unique story of a local club. This is the very logic of a living system: from the first training session on a neighborhood field to the professional Olympus.

Today, Ukrainian businesses are beginning to understand that great victories are not born under the spotlight. They grow where every link matters. And they start at home, on the native field, with the belief that every local success is part of our collective great game.
