Regional authorities reported that the strikes primarily hit residential neighborhoods and gas stations, causing significant destruction. In the Kholodnohirskyi and Novobavarskyi districts, UAV strikes ignited fires at two gas stations, where gas tanks and passenger cars caught fire. According to regional officials , six people were injured during the assault. A 62-year-old man was hospitalized with blast injuries and is in moderate condition, while five other victims were treated at the scene for acute stress reactions. These strikes are part of a broader intensification of Russian drone activity on Saturday, May 2. Earlier in the day, drones targeted gas stations in the Osnovianskyi and Saltivskyi districts, wounding three civilians, and a car dealership was damaged. Beyond Kharkiv, Russian drones also repeatedly targeted public transport in Kherson , striking two minibuses and causing multiple casualties. While the Ukrainian Air Force intercepted 142 of 163 drones launched nationwide overnight , several reached their targets, impacting infrastructure in 12 different locations across the country.
