Senator Graham Awaits Congressional Review of Iran's Ten-Point Proposal for Ceasefire

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has recently expressed his views on Iran's ten-point proposal aimed at ending the ongoing war, emphasizing the need for Congressional consideration of the matter.

American Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has recently shared his thoughts regarding Iran's ten-point proposal designed to bring an end to the war. In a post on the social media platform X, Graham indicated that he is eagerly awaiting the Congressional review of this proposal. He highlighted the importance of bringing this issue to a vote, similar to how the Obama administration's Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was handled.

Graham focused on the necessity of monitoring Iran's enriched uranium, stating that every ounce of the approximately 900 pounds of highly enriched uranium must be under U.S. control and removed from Iran. He believes this is a crucial step in preventing the potential creation of a dirty bomb or Iran's return to uranium enrichment following the Libyan model.

Additionally, Senator Graham emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz has faced attacks from Iran since the onset of the war, resulting in serious violations of freedom of navigation. He pointed out that Iran should not be rewarded for such hostile actions against the international community.

Graham also expressed hope that the terror prevailing under the control of the Iranian regime could be overcome through diplomatic means. This has become particularly relevant following the agreement on a two-week ceasefire with Iran, which he stated could serve as a foundation for further peace initiatives.

Previously, the publication Clash Report released a list of demands that, according to Iran, have allegedly been accepted by the United States. These demands include commitments to non-aggression, maintaining Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz, acceptance of uranium enrichment, the lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions, and the cessation of all United Nations Security Council and Board of Governors resolutions. Furthermore, the list includes a demand for compensation payments to Iran, the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from the region, and an end to the war on all fronts, including the conflict against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

These developments are sparking serious discussions within the international community, as they could significantly impact the geopolitical landscape of the region. The anticipated review of Iran's proposal in Congress is expected to be a critical step in addressing the conflict and in the relations between the United States and Iran.
