SBU Detains Russian Agent Coordinating Strikes on Kramatorsk

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has reported the arrest of a Russian agent who was actively involved in coordinating enemy attacks on the city of Kramatorsk. According to information from Ukrinform, this incident occurred as part of the SBU's active measures aimed at detecting and neutralizing hostile elements operating on Ukrainian territory.

It has been established that the detained individual was closely monitoring the locations of personnel and equipment belonging to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. He collected data on these sites as the enemy planned to strike using various types of weaponry, including FAB-1500 aerial bombs equipped with a cruise module. This highlights the serious threat posed by this agent to Ukrainian military forces.

Furthermore, the agent was tasked with identifying and transmitting the coordinates of logistical warehouses storing weapons, ammunition, and supplies of the Ukrainian military to the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB). This information was critically important for the enemy, as it allowed for more precise and dangerous strikes on Ukrainian positions.

SBU officers meticulously documented the activities of the perpetrator, which ultimately led to his arrest. According to the case materials, it became known that the hostile task was being carried out by a local unemployed individual who had been recruited by the FSB. He came to the attention of the Russian security service in October 2025 when he began communicating in Telegram channels that offered easy earnings.

To gather intelligence, the perpetrator scoured the area, marking the geolocations of military sites on Google Maps if he discovered any. He also saved relevant screenshots on his smartphone, which became crucial evidence of his activities.

Additionally, the agent subtly inquired about the defenders of Donetsk from his acquaintances during casual conversations, indicating his active role in gathering intelligence.

During searches of the detained individual's residence, a mobile phone was confiscated, which contained evidence of his collaboration with the enemy. This further confirmed his criminal intentions and connections with Russian intelligence services.

SBU investigators have informed the detainee of his suspicion under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to treason committed in a state of war. The perpetrator faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property, underscoring the severity of his crime.

It is worth noting that recently, a Ukrainian citizen was sentenced to 15 years in prison for also transmitting coordinates of military sites in Kyiv to the Russians. These cases illustrate the ongoing threat posed by Russian intelligence services and the necessity for vigilance from Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.
