SBU and Defense Forces Strike Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant for the Second Time This Month
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Ukrainian Defense Forces have executed a significant strike on the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant, a critical industrial site for Russia's military production, marking the second such attack in a month.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), in collaboration with the Ukrainian Defense Forces, has launched a powerful strike on the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant for the second time in a month. This facility is one of the key industrial sites utilized by Russia to support its military production, as reported by the Ukrinform news agency.
Located in the Luhansk region, the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant supplies its products to the Russian Uralvagonzavod, where military equipment for the Russian army is manufactured. Among the products produced at this plant are the T-90M 'Proryv' tanks and 'Msta-S' howitzers, which are actively used in combat operations.
According to information received, after identifying the locations of critical production facilities at the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant, strikes were carried out using FP-2 drones manufactured by Fire Point. These drones are known for their high accuracy, allowing them to effectively target strategic objects.
As a result of these strikes, several key elements of the plant's infrastructure were damaged, including blast furnaces, important production workshops, distillation columns, gas pipelines, and electrical substations that support the plant's operations. Consequently, the plant was forced to halt its activities, which will significantly impact military equipment production in Russia.
This strike marks the second such attack within a month. At the end of March, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces also targeted the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant, indicating a systematic approach by Ukrainian forces to dismantle the military infrastructure of the enemy.
Operations like this are part of Ukraine's strategy aimed at reducing Russia's capabilities in conducting the war. The destruction of production facilities used for manufacturing military equipment aims not only to halt the supply of new units to the front but also to undermine the morale of the adversary.
Additionally, it is important to note that the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant holds strategic significance for Russian industry, and its shutdown could have serious repercussions for military equipment production in the aggressor country. This also highlights the importance of the intelligence work carried out by Ukrainian forces, which are capable of accurately identifying targets for strikes.
