SBU and DBR Deliver Components for Ukrainian Armored Vehicles Worth 20 Million UAH to the Front
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) have announced the transfer of a significant batch of components for Ukrainian armored vehicles, discovered during an investigation into a Kyiv-based company's activities.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), in collaboration with the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR), has reported the transfer of a large batch of components intended for Ukrainian armored vehicles, which were found to lack verified origins during an investigation into the activities of a company in Kyiv. This information was disclosed on the SBU's Telegram channel on Wednesday.
According to the provided data, the shipment consists of over 3,800 components designed for T-64 and T-72 tanks, as well as for BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles and MT-LB armored vehicles. This transfer became possible due to the exposure of illegal activities by a Kyiv-based enterprise that was involved in the sale of military vehicle components.
The SBU's announcement highlights that the investigation, conducted by the Kyiv Main Directorate of the SBU in cooperation with the DBR, revealed that the company selling components for artillery and firearms may have employed illegal schemes to evade taxation. This raised serious concerns among law enforcement agencies.
During searches at the company's warehouses, SBU and DBR officials discovered military products that had not been declared in the reporting documentation. Specifically, 109 pallets of spare parts for heavy weaponry were found, with a total balance value of 20 million hryvnias.
The Security Service of Ukraine emphasizes that during the investigative actions, the entrepreneurs voluntarily agreed to transfer the discovered batch of components to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as charitable assistance to the front. This demonstrates the business community's readiness to support the military amid the ongoing war.
Currently, within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, an investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. This article stipulates liability for embezzlement, misappropriation of property, or acquisition of property through abuse of office.
Comprehensive measures for the investigation are being conducted by the staff of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, in collaboration with the DBR under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General. This reflects the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating corruption and ensuring state security amid military operations.
