SBU Announces Suspicion Against Propagandist Site Correspondent in Simferopol

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has announced suspicion against Konstantin Kevorkyan, the head of the editorial team for the Telegram channels of the multimedia publication 'Ukraine.ru'.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has officially announced that it has placed Konstantin Kevorkyan, the head of the editorial team for the Telegram channels of the multimedia publication 'Ukraine.ru', under suspicion. This information was disclosed on the official Facebook page of the SBU in the Cherkasy region, as reported by Ukrinform.

According to the announcement, the SBU has documented the crimes committed by Kevorkyan and has issued a suspicion in absentia. It has been established that he operates under the guidance of sanctioned Russian propagandist Dmitry Kiselev, a key figure in the establishment of the online publication 'Ukraine.ru' back in 2014. This publication actively supports the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, disseminating distorted information about the situation in the country.

Kevorkyan utilizes his platform to bolster Russian aggression, attempting to undermine Ukraine's international image. He publishes materials that justify the crimes of the invaders and promotes the idea of creating 'Novorossiya', which encompasses territories from Odesa to Kharkiv. Furthermore, he spreads false narratives about the alleged mass desire of Ukrainians to emigrate to Russia.

In accordance with the Criminal Code of Ukraine, Kevorkyan has been charged under part 6 of Article 111-1, which pertains to collaborationist activities, as well as under part 3 of Article 436-2, which covers the justification, recognition of legitimacy, and denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. For these offenses, he faces up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The investigation into Kevorkyan's activities was conducted by the SBU employees in the Cherkasy region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office. This reflects the seriousness of the approach taken by Ukrainian law enforcement regarding national security issues and the fight against propaganda that supports Russia's aggression.

Additionally, it is worth noting that the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine has partially satisfied the lawsuit of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, seizing part of the assets belonging to Konstantin Kevorkyan for the benefit of the state. These assets were recognized as contributing to harm against national security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Konstantin Kevorkyan, a former Ukrainian journalist, emigrated to Russia after the Revolution of Dignity. Following this, he became actively involved in propaganda, repeatedly justifying Russian aggression and referring to the territories seized by the Russian Federation as 'liberated'. His activities raise concerns among Ukrainian law enforcement and society, as they are directly linked to the information war being waged by Russia against Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine continues its work to identify and hold accountable individuals who support Russia's aggression, as well as those who disseminate disinformation about Ukraine. This is an important step in the fight for truth and the restoration of justice in the context of the ongoing war.
