Rescuers Discover World War II Munitions in Kremenets District

In the Kremenets district of the Ternopil region, rescuers have discovered two munitions that date back to World War II, prompting immediate action to ensure the safety of local residents. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) in Ternopil reported the findings, emphasizing the need for prompt responses to potential dangers posed by unexploded ordnance.

The first munition was located in a forest belt near the town of Pochaiv, while the second was found in the hollow of a fallen tree in a nearby village named Sapaniv. These discoveries serve as a stark reminder that hazardous items can be found in various locations, and their timely neutralization is critical for the safety of the local populace.

First responders from the community arrived swiftly at the scene, assessing the situation and taking necessary measures to ensure safety. Additionally, bomb disposal experts from the DSNS were called in, equipped with specialized tools and experience to handle dangerous items effectively.

Aside from the munitions discovery, the DSNS management reported other emergency incidents that occurred in the region. Notably, a fire broke out in a mini-market on one of the streets in Ternopil. The blaze destroyed a coffee machine, a portion of the merchandise, and the ceiling of the store, covering an area of 8 square meters. Thanks to the quick actions of the firefighters from the 2nd State Fire and Rescue Unit, the building was saved from complete destruction.

Furthermore, on two other streets, DSNS personnel assisted individuals in need, including opening the door of an apartment where a woman had locked herself in and required medical assistance. This underscores the vital role of rescuers not only during emergencies but also in situations where immediate help is necessary for citizens.

On Vyshnivetsky Boulevard, rescuers extinguished smoke in the entrance of a multi-story building, preventing further fire hazards. These incidents reaffirm that the rescue service is always prepared to respond to calls and ensure the safety of the population.
