The Faculty of Digital Transformation for Defense Professionals Begins Operations
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced the launch of a new Faculty of Digital Transformation, aimed at training specialists to effectively implement modern technologies in defense processes.
According to the information agency Ukrinform, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially launched a new Faculty of Digital Transformation, which is part of a broader Digital Transformation Structure. This faculty is designed to prepare specialists who can efficiently integrate modern technologies into defense processes.
Highlighting the significance of this initiative, representatives from the Ministry of Defense emphasized that modern warfare is fundamentally a war of technologies. The ability to swiftly implement innovations is critically important to stay one step ahead of the enemy. Therefore, it is essential that effective digital solutions quickly reach military units and function fully in combat conditions.
The specialists within the Digital Transformation Structure are actively working on implementing cutting-edge solutions in practice, ensuring real-time results. 'Our task is to ensure that this entire new structure, all two thousand people, are united by a single idea and common goals. We must provide the necessary tools and achieve our objectives synchronously,' stated Oksana Ferchuk, the Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization.
The training programs at the faculty combine strategic thinking with practical skills, allowing participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of changes and specific tools for daily operations within their units. The entire curriculum is based on the real experiences of state digitalization and the implementation of technologies during wartime, making it particularly relevant in the face of contemporary challenges.
Training at the faculty will be conducted by both military and civilian experts from the defense sector. This collaboration will merge modern technological approaches with the current needs of military units. Enrollment for training occurs in a closed format: initially, a specialist is appointed to a position within the Digital Transformation Structure, after which their direct supervisor submits them for training.
Key areas of study include digital transformation in the defense sector, data management and analytics for decision-making, management of digital and technological projects, system architecture and solution integration, cybersecurity and resilience of digital infrastructure, as well as leadership and change management within the defense sector.
The faculty is being implemented by the Ministry of Defense in collaboration with CDTO Campus, a national educational project of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, and the Eastern Europe Foundation. This partnership aims to ensure a high level of training for specialists capable of implementing innovations in the field of defense.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, IT specialists sought for the establishment of an IT vertical within the Ukrainian Defense Forces will work in the headquarters of battalions, brigades, and corps. They are expected to maintain communication with all units where digital solutions will be implemented, thereby enhancing management efficiency and responsiveness in combat conditions.
