Russian Drone Strike on Residential Building in Kharkiv: Civilians Injured

On April 2, Russian drones of the Shahed type launched an attack on the city of Kharkiv, targeting a residential building and resulting in injuries to several civilians. According to regional governor Oleg Synegubov, the drone strike directly impacted a residential structure located in the Kyiv district of the city, causing a fire to break out on both the second and third floors of the building.

Two women, aged 61 and 52, sustained injuries as a result of the strike and are currently receiving medical assistance, Synegubov stated. Emergency services were promptly deployed to the scene to assist those affected, while local authorities conducted checks in surrounding homes to identify residents in need of help.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that the Kyiv district experienced multiple strikes throughout the day. "Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has attacked Kharkiv 11 times, with all strikes occurring in the Kyiv district," he said, highlighting the intensity of the assaults.

Terekhov further noted that the majority of the drones used in the attack were of a reactive type, marking the first instance in which Russia has deployed such unmanned aerial vehicles against Kharkiv. Officials have warned that additional drones remained airborne in the vicinity of the city, raising concerns about further attacks.

Residents have been urged to heed air raid signals and seek shelter immediately. This latest attack serves as yet another indication of the escalating violence in the region, where civilians continue to bear the brunt of military actions and hostilities.
