Russian Forces Strike Shostka in Sumy Region: One Killed, Three Injured

According to Oleg Grygorov, during one of the strikes, which utilized guided aerial bombs, a 59-year-old woman lost her life. Among the injured, who sustained wounds, were her close relatives. Three of the injured individuals were hospitalized, and regrettably, one woman, aged 29, is in critical condition. This highlights the severe consequences of this horrifying attack.

The regional military administration reported that Russian forces targeted Shostka using four guided aerial bombs (GAB). The strikes affected both private residential houses and multi-story apartment buildings, leading to significant destruction and loss of life.

Additionally, the Sumy Regional Military Administration noted that over the course of one day, Russian forces conducted more than 70 shelling attacks across 35 populated areas in 17 territorial communities within the region. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts. For these assaults, Russian military forces employed mortars, artillery, FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and guided aerial bombs.

On the morning of April 3, air raid alerts were also declared in several regions of Ukraine due to the threat of attacks from Russian strike drones. The Russian side launched a significant number of drones from multiple directions and also deployed a group of strategic bombers, Tu-95 and Tu-160, into the air. This indicates an escalation of aggression from Russia and an increased threat to the civilian population of Ukraine.

This incident serves as yet another confirmation of the brutality and ruthlessness of Russian military actions on Ukrainian territory, which have been ongoing for more than a year. The Ukrainian government and the international community condemn these attacks, which result in numerous casualties among the civilian population and destruction of infrastructure.
