On Thursday, April 9, it became known that Russian troops are actively transporting sea containers with unknown contents from the port of Rostov-on-Don to the occupied city of Berdyansk in the Zaporizhzhia region. This information was disclosed by Petro Andriushchenko, the head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, who also shared relevant photos and videos confirming these facts.
Andriushchenko noted that for the second consecutive week, the transportation of mysterious containers to Berdyansk, specifically to the port area, has been recorded. "For the second week in a row, we are observing the transportation of mysterious sea containers to Berdyansk, to the territory of the port," he wrote in his message. At the same time, he emphasized that the contents of the containers remain unknown, but efforts to establish this information are ongoing.
This situation raises concerns among the local population and experts, as the unknown contents of the containers may be related to military actions or other threats. It is important to note that on March 21, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladislav Voloshin, reported that the Russian 299th Airborne Assault Regiment is conducting training at one of the training grounds in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, practicing practical skills for movement through a gas pipeline.
Additionally, on March 20, Russian occupiers attempted to storm the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region, hoping to capture it; however, Ukrainian defenders successfully thwarted the enemy's plans. This indicates that the situation in the region remains tense, and both sides continue active military operations.
On March 15, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted that Russian troops currently consider the Zaporizhzhia direction as a primary focus, concentrating a significant number of forces and resources there. This underscores the importance of the region in the context of ongoing military actions in eastern Ukraine.
Thus, the transportation of sea containers to Berdyansk may be part of a broader strategy by Russian troops, raising concerns among Ukrainian military personnel and experts. Further actions by the Russians in this direction could significantly impact the situation in the region, and Ukrainian forces must be prepared for potential threats.
