Russian Army Launches Missile Strike on Residential Areas in Zhytomyr Region: 70-Year-Old Woman Killed, Five Injured

The Russian Armed Forces have once again launched a devastating attack on Ukraine, executing missile strikes and deploying drones against residential areas and civilian infrastructure in the Zhytomyr region. This alarming situation was reported by Vitaliy Bunechko, head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, who emphasized the seriousness of the incident.

According to Bunechko, this Russian assault resulted in the tragic death of a 70-year-old woman, while five others sustained injuries and varying degrees of trauma. This incident underscores the harsh reality that civilians continue to fall victim to the ruthless aggression perpetrated by Russia against Ukraine.

In northern Zhytomyr, the missile strike led to the destruction of 18 buildings, including nine residential homes. Additionally, over 100 residential buildings, more than 55 outbuildings, and two shops were also damaged. These facts illustrate the extensive devastation inflicted by the aggressor in an attempt to instill fear in the Ukrainian populace.

The regional military administration noted that active search and rescue operations, fire extinguishing efforts, and damage mitigation are ongoing at the sites of the attacks. This attack is part of a broader offensive that Russia launched on the morning of April 3, utilizing strike drones and missiles fired from strategic bombers. The Kyiv region bore the brunt of the assault, where one person was killed and eight others were injured, including a child. In the Kyiv region, one of the Russian drones struck a residential building in Obukhiv, while another exploded on the grounds of a school in Vysheve.
