Russians Use 'Meat Assaults' to Conceal Problems from Leadership - Paratrooper

In a recent interview with the Ukrinform news agency, Lieutenant Colonel Kostyantyn Revutskyi, the deputy commander of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade, shared critical insights into the tactics employed by Russian forces on the front lines.

In a recent interview with the Ukrinform news agency, Lieutenant Colonel Kostyantyn Revutskyi, who serves as the deputy commander of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade, provided significant observations regarding the tactics of Russian troops on the battlefield. He noted that Russian commanders, in an effort to conceal their issues, resort to what are termed 'meat assaults,' which he claims are a result of inadequate communication between lower and higher echelons of command.

Revutskyi emphasized that underestimating the enemy is a mistake, as Russian troops continue to evolve and adapt to the conditions on the battlefield. 'The enemy should not be underestimated. They are also strong and developing. When they (the Russians) launch their 'meat assaults,' it is because some commander at a lower level fails to report that he has a problem and tries to solve it on his own. When he runs out of options and everyone is dying, then he reports to senior command, but it is too late,' he stated.

This tactic, according to Revutskyi, indicates serious management issues within the Russian military, where commanders either cannot or do not want to adequately assess the situation on the front and timely inform leadership about emerging difficulties. At the same time, he urged Ukrainian soldiers to unite as much as possible to continue destroying the enemy.

'We simply need to unite as much as possible to destroy the enemy more effectively,' emphasized the lieutenant colonel, highlighting the importance of unity and coordinated actions among Ukrainian forces.

Kostyantyn Revutskyi also expressed the view that the end of the war depends not only on the efforts of the military but also on the activity of society. 'If I am asked when the war will end, I usually say: when everyone, including those who ask, joins the Armed Forces of Ukraine. When we maximally destroy the enemy – then, perhaps, something will end. But if we just sit and ask about it, nothing will change,' he remarked, calling on Ukrainians to take active steps.

It is worth recalling that Russian forces, after unsuccessful attempts to bypass the village of Hryshyne, located near Pokrovsk in Donetsk, are currently trying to attack it in a frontal assault. These actions indicate that the enemy continues to seek opportunities for advancement despite significant losses.
