Russians Attack Odesa Region: Fire Erupts in Port, Homes Damaged

On the morning of April 2, the Odesa region once again became a target for Russian occupiers, who launched strikes on residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, resulting in significant destruction including a fire at the port.

On the morning of April 2, the Odesa region was once again targeted by Russian occupiers, who carried out strikes on residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in the area. This aggression has led to serious consequences, including a fire at the port where containers and vehicles caught fire.

The incident was reported by Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, via his Telegram channel. According to him, the attack affected not only infrastructure facilities but also residential homes. 'Residential buildings and the port area were hit. Containers and four passenger cars caught fire in the port zone, and two hangars were damaged,' Kiper noted.

The details of the attack indicate severe destruction in the residential sector. Specifically, the facade, roof, and windows of a private residential house were damaged. Additionally, a construction site was destroyed, and fires broke out on the balcony and gas pipe of a high-rise building. These events have raised alarm among local residents, who have endured yet another outbreak of violence.

Oleg Kiper also reported that the fires caused by the attacks have already been extinguished by rescuers. Fortunately, preliminary data suggests that there were no casualties. This is a significant point, considering that similar attacks often result in human losses.

This attack on Odesa is part of a broader aggressive campaign by Russia against Ukraine, which has been ongoing since the beginning of the war. Odesa, as a strategically important region, frequently becomes a target for hostile actions, jeopardizing the safety of local residents and infrastructure.

In light of the current situation, authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and adhere to safety measures. Efforts are also underway to restore damaged facilities and provide assistance to those affected.

This incident once again underscores the importance of international support for Ukraine in its fight against aggression and the necessity of taking measures to protect the civilian population.
