Russians Attack School in Border Area of Chernihiv with FPV Drones
On Sunday, June 4, Russian occupation forces launched a new attack on the border town of Semenivka in the Chernihiv region, using FPV drones to strike a local school.
On Sunday, June 4, Russian occupation forces carried out a new attack on the border town of Semenivka, located in the Chernihiv region. This time, the enemy utilized two FPV drones, which targeted a local general education school. According to Oleksandr Seliverstov, the head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi District Military Administration, the attack occurred around 6:30 PM.
Oleksandr Seliverstov reported that as a result of the two enemy strikes, the building of general education school No. 5 in Semenivka was damaged. Preliminary information indicates that there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities resulting from this incident at this time. This suggests that despite the severity of the attack, there have been no recorded casualties among the population so far.
This attack is part of the ongoing aggression by Russia against Ukraine, which has persisted for over a year. Military actions in the border areas of Chernihiv have become a common occurrence, as the region is constantly subjected to shelling by Russian forces. It is noteworthy that such attacks on civilian objects, particularly schools, constitute a gross violation of international humanitarian law.
Interestingly, just a few days prior, on April 4, Russian troops also attacked another border town — Snovsk. As a result of this attack, a man born in 1985 was killed while in his own yard near a garage during the shelling. He died on the spot from his injuries, further highlighting the dangers faced by civilians in conflict zones.
These events raise alarm among local residents who live under constant threat from the aggressor. Despite the efforts of the Ukrainian military, the situation remains tense, and many people are trying to find ways to protect their families and homes. Authorities urge citizens to exercise caution and adhere to safety measures, especially in border areas where attacks can occur at any moment.
Thus, the attack on Semenivka serves as yet another reminder that the war in Ukraine continues, and civilians continue to suffer the consequences of military actions. Authorities and the international community must take all necessary measures to protect the civilian population and hold the aggressor accountable for its actions.
