Russia Claims Life of Woman, Three Others Injured in Strikes on Kherson

A 63-year-old woman has died in a hospital following severe injuries from a Russian drone strike on her vehicle in Kherson, amidst ongoing attacks on civilian areas by Russian forces.

In a tragic incident that highlights the ongoing violence in Ukraine, a 63-year-old resident of Kherson succumbed to her injuries in a hospital after being severely wounded by a Russian drone strike on her car in the Dnipro district of the city on April 1. This event occurred amid continued assaults by Russian troops, who have once again targeted residential areas, causing harm to innocent civilians. According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, three additional individuals were injured in the latest attacks.

In his statement, Prokudin remarked, "A 63-year-old woman from Kherson has died in the hospital after suffering extremely serious injuries from a Russian drone strike on her vehicle in the Dnipro district of Kherson yesterday." Medical personnel did everything possible to save the woman; however, her injuries proved fatal. This incident underscores the horrific consequences of the military actions that continue to unfold in Ukraine.

Updated information from the regional administration indicates that Russian forces are persisting in their drone assaults on the Dnipro district of Kherson. Around 12:20 PM, the invaders dropped explosives on an 84-year-old woman who was outside. As a result of this attack, she sustained shrapnel wounds to her chest, a concussion, and both explosive and closed traumatic brain injuries. The woman was urgently transported to a hospital in moderate condition.

Approximately half an hour later, around 12:50 PM, Russian occupiers struck the area again. This time, a 63-year-old man who was also outside was caught in the attack. He suffered shrapnel wounds to his leg, a concussion, and both explosive and closed traumatic brain injuries. The man was hospitalized in moderate condition, indicating the severity of his state.

Furthermore, it was later reported that Russian troops targeted two civilian vehicles in one of Kherson's districts with drones. As a result of this assault, another man was injured. According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the strike occurred in the Central district of the city, underscoring the unprecedented aggression faced by civilians.

The fire that broke out as a result of the attack was extinguished by rescuers who worked under the threat of further strikes. This situation once again confirms the danger faced not only by military personnel but also by civilians in Ukraine. On April 1, Russian forces dropped explosives from a drone onto a civilian vehicle in Kherson, provoking widespread outrage among the population.

Initially, reports indicated that two women had died, but it was later clarified that the 63-year-old passenger who sustained severe injuries was still alive. She was urgently taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition. The other woman, aged 59, died at the scene, while the driver of the vehicle was injured. These events further emphasize the tragic consequences of the ongoing war in Ukraine and the urgent need for measures to protect the civilian population.
