Russia Supplies Iran with Satellite Data on US Military Bases in the Middle East

Ukrainian intelligence has revealed that Russia has provided Iran with dozens of detailed satellite images documenting 46 sites, including US military bases, airports, and oil fields. This information raises serious concerns about regional security and military activities.

Ukrainian intelligence has reported that Russia has supplied Iran with dozens of detailed satellite images that capture 46 locations, including US military bases, airports, and oil fields. This information came to light through sources from Ukrinform, which noted that these sites became targets for Iranian ballistic missiles and drones just days after the Russian satellite surveys were conducted.

According to data provided by Reuters, Western intelligence has also indicated the activity of Russian satellites in the Middle East region. Information obtained from Reuters sources revealed that nine studies conducted by Russian satellites covered specific areas of Saudi Arabia. Notably, five of these studies focused on King Khalid Military City, located near Hafr al-Batin, aiming to identify elements of the US-made THAAD air defense system.

Additionally, Russian satellite surveillance twice covered areas in Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. In contrast, populated areas in Israel, Qatar, Iraq, Bahrain, as well as the Diego Garcia Naval Base, were recorded only once. This suggests that Russia is actively monitoring military activities in these countries, which could have serious implications for regional security.

Beyond satellite surveillance, Ukrainian intelligence and Western military sources report that Russia is also providing Iran with assistance in the cyber realm. Specifically, Iranian-controlled hacker groups have been conducting attacks on critical infrastructure and telecommunications companies in the Persian Gulf since late February this year. Russian hacker groups such as the Z-Pentest Alliance, NoName057(16), and the DDoSia Project are collaborating with Iranian hackers from the Handala Hack group via the Telegram platform, indicating a close partnership between these nations in the field of cybersecurity.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia conducted satellite imaging of an American airbase in Saudi Arabia three times in the days leading up to Iran's attack on it, which resulted in injuries to American military personnel. This information raises serious concerns about potential threats to American forces in the region and underscores the importance of monitoring the actions of both Russia and Iran.

Zelensky also pointed out that Russia provided Iran with satellite intelligence on over 50 energy infrastructure sites in Israel. This indicates that the Kremlin is actively supporting Iran in its efforts to strike civilian infrastructure, which could have severe consequences for security in the region. In light of these developments, the international community must closely monitor the situation and take necessary measures to ensure stability in the Middle East.
