Russia Scrambles Bombers as Approximately 400 Drones Operate in Ukrainian Airspace – Ukrainian Air Force Spokesperson

On the morning of Friday, October 20, Russia activated its military operations by launching strategic bombers into the sky. This was reported by Yuriy Ihnat, the head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, during a telethon. He specifically noted that the Tu-95 and Tu-160MS bombers were deployed, which raises significant concerns among Ukrainian military personnel.

Yuriy Ihnat emphasized that should missiles be launched from these aircraft, Ukrainian forces would promptly inform the public. According to him, if missiles are indeed fired, they would take several hours to reach their targets in central Ukraine. This indicates the seriousness of the situation and the potential threats to the country’s security.

Furthermore, Ihnat reported that there are currently around 400 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) operating in Ukrainian airspace. This information is alarming as it reflects the enemy's active presence in the skies. He noted that as of the morning of October 20, approximately 240 UAVs were recorded, but later updates indicated that their numbers have now exceeded 400.

According to the information provided, the drones are moving towards the Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia regions, as well as Cherkasy, and from the Sumy region heading south. This suggests that Russia is actively utilizing drones for reconnaissance purposes and potentially for striking Ukrainian targets.
