Russia Launched Approximately 3,000 Drones at Ukraine in One Week - Ignat

In a recent statement, Yuri Ignat, spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, revealed that Russian military forces have launched around 2,800 to 3,000 drones targeting Ukraine over the past week.

Yuri Ignat, the spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced during a television program that in the last week, Russian military forces have launched approximately 2,800 to 3,000 drones aimed at Ukrainian territory. This information was reported by the Ukrinform agency, which is actively covering the situation on the front lines.

Ignat emphasized that these figures pertain only to the drones for which the Ukrainian side provides daily statistics. Among the drones utilized by the enemy, he mentioned models such as 'Molniya,' 'Lantset,' and others. These drones pose a serious threat to Ukrainian forces, as their numbers and variety continue to increase.

The primary concern, according to Ignat, remains the 'Shahed' drone, which has undergone significant changes in its technical characteristics since the onset of the war. 'The Shahed has become entirely different from what it was at the beginning of the invasion. It is now two different aircraft. It can be resistant to electronic warfare, employing specific elements on its antennas,' he noted, stressing that the new modifications of the drones significantly complicate the tasks for Ukrainian air defense.

In his report, Ignat also mentioned a nighttime attack that occurred on April 7. During this incident, the enemy launched a massive strike against Ukraine, utilizing 110 strike UAVs of types such as Shahed, 'Herbera,' 'Italmas,' and drones of other types. The attack was carried out from various directions, including Bryansk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea and the Donetsk region. Out of all the drones, approximately 70 were specifically 'Shaheds,' indicating their significant role in the strategy of Russian military forces.

This information underscores the growing threat that drones pose to Ukrainian forces and highlights the necessity for further enhancement of air defense systems. In the face of constant aerial attacks, Ukrainian military personnel and specialists are working to find effective solutions to counter these new challenges.

Amid these developments, it is important to note that information regarding the activity of Russian drones is continuously updated. Ukrainian military forces continue to combat enemy drones, striving to protect their territory and population. In light of this, Ukrainians are called upon to support and stay informed about the situation on the front lines.
