Russian Forces Launch Another Attack on Naftogaz Facilities in Poltava Region, Says Company Head

Russian aggressors have once again carried out a massive attack on the facilities of the Naftogaz Group in the Poltava region, utilizing drones. This assault resulted in a fire, as reported by the head of the National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretsky, in a Facebook post on Saturday.

Koretsky noted that the attack occurred on the eve of Catholic Easter, when Russian forces targeted the company's infrastructure assets in Poltava. According to him, the strikes were carried out using drones, and as a result of these bombings, a fire broke out. Following the initial attack, a second strike occurred, indicating the deliberate nature of the aggressor's actions.

Fortunately, according to Koretsky, there were no casualties as a result of these attacks. The situation was promptly addressed by the units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), which ensured the extinguishing of the fire's aftermath.

The head of Naftogaz also emphasized that the Russian side continues its targeted attacks on Ukraine's oil and gas and energy infrastructure. He pointed out that since the beginning of the year, the enemy has attacked the facilities of the Naftogaz Group over 40 times, indicating the systematic nature of these actions.

This situation raises serious concerns as attacks on critical infrastructure can have far-reaching consequences for the country's energy security. It is noteworthy that such actions by the aggressor not only threaten energy stability but can also lead to significant economic losses.

Moreover, in the context of war, when energy infrastructure is a strategic asset, such attacks can have serious consequences for the population that relies on stable energy supplies. Authorities and relevant services must take all possible measures to protect critical facilities and ensure the safety of citizens.

Thus, the situation surrounding the attacks on Naftogaz facilities in the Poltava region is yet another confirmation that the war in Ukraine continues, and the threat from Russia remains pertinent. It is crucial for society to be informed about these events and their potential consequences, as well as for the relevant authorities to take necessary measures to protect infrastructure and the population.
