Russia Continuously Upgrades Its Weaponry and Tactics, Says Ignat

In a recent commentary for Ukrainian Radio, Colonel Yuriy Ignat, head of the Communications Department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, highlighted that the Russian Federation is consistently modernizing its weaponry and altering its tactical approaches.

In his remarks, Colonel Yuriy Ignat noted that the Russian military's tactics are continually adapting to the nature of the strikes they attempt to execute, as well as the geography of their intended targets. This ongoing evolution reflects a strategic effort by Russia to enhance its operational effectiveness in the ongoing conflict.

Ignat emphasized that changes in tactics are also influenced by the time of day. He stated, “Additionally, they are modernizing their weaponry and changing the tactics of application and the quantity of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Today, UAVs are flying in large numbers from various directions, attacking different regions.” This indicates that the enemy is not only improving its technologies but is also actively changing its approaches to combat operations.

Commenting on the morning bombardment, Ignat pointed out that this marks the third attack during the day within a short timeframe. “However, they have previously attacked during the day as well; it’s just that there were fewer drones,” he added. This suggests that the enemy is attempting to intensify its operations during daylight hours, which may indicate new tactical approaches.

The Colonel also noted the difficulty in identifying the enemy's targets when the map is completely red and attacks are occurring across various regions. “The enemy's targets are diverse: they traditionally strike at infrastructure, energy facilities, and the gas extraction industry. It is clear that they are also interested in logistics. You can see that the railway is suffering from constant enemy attacks, especially from strike UAVs,” Ignat stated. This suggests that the enemy is trying to complicate life for Ukraine as a state and for Ukrainians as a nation.

According to reports from Ukrinform, Ukraine's air defense forces successfully neutralized 26 Russian missiles and 515 drones of various types today. This demonstrates a high level of readiness among Ukrainian forces to repel enemy attacks, despite the ongoing changes in their tactics.

Unfortunately, as a result of the shelling on April 3, five innocent Ukrainian civilians lost their lives. These tragic events underscore the seriousness of the situation and the necessity to continue the fight for the country's defense.
