Verkhovna Rada Passes Euro-Integration Law to Strengthen Product Quality Control

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has enacted a new law aimed at enhancing market supervision and technical regulation in accordance with European standards, as reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada, according to Ukrinform.
The bill, registered under number 12426, is designed to improve the effectiveness of product safety control and to strengthen accountability for violations of standards. The announcement states that the new provisions will ensure that inspections and controls are uniform for both products sold in traditional stores and those sold through online platforms. This means that marketplaces will be subject to the same oversight as regular retail outlets.
The approved law represents a significant step in preparing for the conclusion of the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products. This agreement is essential for Ukraine's integration into the European Union's single market. It is expected that the implementation of the law will create conditions for the free circulation of Ukrainian goods within the EU and will enhance trust in the national quality control system.
Moreover, the new law expands the state's capabilities to respond swiftly to consumer complaints, thereby strengthening the protection of their rights to safe and quality products. For businesses, this means a level playing field in competition and additional opportunities to enter European markets, as assured by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada.
It is worth recalling that on April 7, 2026, the Verkhovna Rada made decisions that will allow Ukraine to receive funding from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility program. This indicates the country's commitment to Euro-integration and improving business conditions in Ukraine.
With the passage of this law, Ukraine is taking another important step towards aligning with European standards, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the development of the economy and the improvement of life for Ukrainian citizens.
