The Issue of Lowering the Age Threshold for Mobilization Is Not Currently Under Consideration - Palisa
In a recent interview with RBC Ukraine, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Pavlo Palisa addressed the mobilization situation in Ukraine, stating that the possibility of lowering the age threshold for mobilization below 25 years is not being considered at this time.
In a recent interview with RBC Ukraine, Pavlo Palisa, the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, discussed the current state of mobilization in Ukraine. He emphasized that there are no plans to lower the age threshold for mobilization below 25 years. Additionally, he responded to questions regarding potential changes in exit rules for men aged 18-23, highlighting that these issues are not currently relevant.
"At this moment, both positions are not under consideration," Palisa stated, clearly outlining the government's stance on mobilization measures. This statement comes amid ongoing discussions and speculation surrounding possible changes in legislation related to the mobilization of youth, particularly in light of the continued military actions in Ukraine.
Furthermore, Palisa noted that the situation regarding mobilization in Ukraine has significantly improved over the past ten months. He emphasized that the positive dynamics allow the Defense Forces to feel more confident compared to last year. "Compared to last year, both recruitment and mobilization have improved, and certain operational gaps that existed in the mobilization process have been addressed. While much work has been done, even more work remains to be done," he added, stressing the need for continued efforts in this area.
Palisa's statements reflect an overall trend of improvement in Ukraine's mobilization and recruitment efforts, yet they also underscore that many challenges lie ahead. It is important to note that the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not currently plan to mobilize women and are not developing any mechanisms aimed at this. This issue has sparked public discussion, but for now, the official position remains unchanged.
As the country continues to combat external threats, such comments from government officials are crucial for understanding the mobilization and defense strategy. The public is anticipating further clarifications and potential changes in legislation; however, the situation remains stable, and the issue of lowering the age threshold for mobilization is not a topic of discussion.
