Five People, Including an Infant, Injured in Nighttime Shelling of Kharkiv – Police

In a series of attacks on the night of October 13, Kharkiv was targeted by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, resulting in injuries to five individuals, including a baby.

On the night of Friday, October 13, the city of Kharkiv became the target of assaults from the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Enemy forces launched strikes on the city using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missiles. As a result of these shellings, five people were injured, among them an infant.

According to information provided by the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, an office building was damaged in the Osnovyansky district of the city. One of the injured was a 70-year-old security guard who sustained injuries during the attack. Additionally, a private residence in the Kyiv district was also damaged. A 27-year-old woman and her son, who was born in 2026, suffered acute stress reactions due to the shelling.

By early morning, the enemy launched missile strikes on the city again, resulting in damage to the windows of residential apartment buildings. Among the injured was a 63-year-old woman who was hurt while at home during the shelling. She was hospitalized to receive necessary medical assistance. An 18-year-old resident of Kharkiv also experienced acute stress reactions as a result of the situation.

Furthermore, impacts were recorded in the area of the central park in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city, further confirming the seriousness of the situation. Immediately following the shellings, investigative teams, criminologists, and explosives experts were dispatched to the impact sites to examine the area and document the consequences of the attack.

In connection with these events, law enforcement officials have initiated criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to war crimes. This indicates the seriousness of the situation and the intentions of law enforcement to hold those responsible accountable.

These events once again highlight the dangers faced by residents of Kharkiv amid the ongoing conflict. The city, which has endured numerous attacks since the beginning of the war, continues to remain in a risk zone, and its inhabitants are forced to live under constant threat.

The authorities are urging residents to exercise caution, adhere to safety regulations, and monitor official communications regarding the situation in the region. They also emphasize the importance of supporting those affected and providing them with necessary assistance during this challenging time.
