Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently emphasized the urgent need for regions to prepare for the winter season during a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. He underscored that this is a priority task for all areas of the country.

Zelensky stated, "We cannot relax; we must prepare for the next winter. This is a priority for us. I want to thank all regions for preparing resilience plans. Now we need to implement them in practice." His remarks reflect the seriousness of the situation the country is facing and the importance of efforts that must be made to ensure energy security.

The President highlighted that, despite hopes for diplomatic resolutions to the ongoing conflict, regions must begin restoring their energy capabilities immediately. According to him, this is critically important for ensuring stability during the winter months when energy demand traditionally rises.

In a separate note, Zelensky expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and air defense personnel for successfully navigating the challenges of the past winter. He also acknowledged the importance of workers in various enterprises who, despite numerous difficulties, continued to operate and contribute to the country’s budget.

In the context of winter preparations, it is noteworthy that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has already allocated 12.85 billion hryvnias for the preparation of 209 critical infrastructure facilities in frontline and Kyiv regions. These funds aim to ensure an adequate level of readiness for the winter period, which is especially crucial given the current situation in the country.

Furthermore, the government has decided to allocate an additional 9.2 billion hryvnias to implement regional resilience plans. These measures are designed to strengthen infrastructure and ensure the uninterrupted functioning of vital facilities in the face of potential emergencies.

Thus, the President's call to intensify winter preparations is timely and necessary, considering the challenges Ukraine faces. It is essential for all regions to focus on implementing their resilience plans and ensuring an adequate level of readiness for the winter season.
