Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Reviews Frontline Situation and Military Operations

On April 6, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a crucial meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, and the Chief of the General Staff, Andriy Hnatov, to discuss the current frontline situation and ongoing military operations.

On April 6, 2023, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky convened an important meeting with Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Andriy Hnatov, the Chief of the General Staff. This meeting focused on pressing issues related to the frontline situation and the military operations being conducted by Ukraine. The information was shared on the official Telegram channel of the president.

President Zelensky emphasized that the primary focus of the discussions was on the Oleksandrivka and Pokrovsk directions, where the highest activity of Russian troops is currently observed. "Firstly, we discussed the prospects in the Oleksandrivka and Pokrovsk directions. It is there that the greatest efforts of the Russian army are concentrated, and accordingly, our counteraction is also focused there. I am grateful to all our units for their significant results in striking the occupiers," the president stated.

Additionally, during the meeting, Zelensky received a report on Ukraine's diplomatic efforts and corresponding priorities. "Ukrainian sanctions are effectively reducing Russian revenues, primarily from oil. This is felt in both the northeastern and southeastern directions of active diplomatic actions," he added.

The president also highlighted the importance of coordinating further steps with the military command. "Thirdly, I approved our further steps with the military command. It is crucial that strong Ukrainian positions on the front and in long-range operations also work to strengthen our positions in diplomacy and in various relations with partners. That is exactly what is happening. Ukraine is defending itself and demonstrating its ability to enhance the security of others. Glory to Ukraine!" he concluded.

It is worth noting that on March 4, the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Assault Troops (DShV) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the plans of Russian occupying forces to intensify their offensive at the beginning of spring. They have concentrated their greatest efforts on advancing towards Hryshyne, located northwest of Pokrovsk.

On March 8, the deputy commander of the special forces group of the special unit "Typhoon" with the call sign Scorpion noted that Ukrainian defenders partially control the northern part of the city of Pokrovsk. On March 14, the 7th Corps of the DShV reported that Ukrainian defenders continue to clear the central part of Hryshyne, where active fighting is ongoing.

On March 19, the special unit of unmanned aerial complexes Lasar’s Group, which is part of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU), reported on the results of a special operation in the Pokrovsk direction, as a result of which "the enemy's capabilities have significantly decreased." On March 31, the 7th Corps reported that Russian occupiers are unable to advance in Hryshyne and are experiencing shortages of food and water.

On April 6, the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Tavriya Brigade of the DShV reported that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains difficult. Russian occupiers are attempting to infiltrate the rear of Ukrainian units both during the day and at night; however, strike drone pilots are promptly detecting and destroying the enemy. This information underscores the complexity and tension of the situation on the front, as well as the heroism of Ukrainian soldiers who continue to fight for their country.
