On Friday, April 3, at the KnygoLand bookstore located in Kyiv, a presentation of the book by renowned Israeli historian and author Michael Bar-Zohar titled 'Iron Swords, Wounded Hearts' will take place. This book is the ninth in the 'Jewish Library' series, which was initiated by the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine.
The book 'Iron Swords, Wounded Hearts: The Fateful War of Israel against Hamas' was published with the support of Yaroslav and Stanislav Gryshyn, co-founders of Ukraine's leading drone manufacturer 'General Chereshnya'. The book presentation, published by 'Nash Format', will occur at 6:00 PM at the KnygoLand bookstore on Zhylianska Street, 5/60.
Michael Bar-Zohar is already familiar to Ukrainian readers thanks to his bestsellers 'Mossad: The Greatest Operations of Israeli Intelligence' and 'Mossad's Amazons: Women in Israeli Intelligence'. In his new book 'Iron Swords', the author provides a detailed account of the military operation of the IDF against Hamas, highlighting the dramatic months, pain, determination, as well as the internal struggles and self-reflection of the Israelis.
Bar-Zohar began writing this book the day after the attack, feeling that, in his words, 'this decisive chapter of history will be distorted and falsified by lies and fake news.' This reflects his deep concern about the perception of the events that occurred and their impact on historical memory.
The book presentation in Kyiv will feature patrons of the publication Yaroslav and Stanislav Gryshyn, representatives of 'Nash Format', as well as members of Ukraine's Jewish community. Additionally, the event will see the online participation of Boris Lozhkin, President of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, and Dr. Chaim Ben Yaakov, CEO of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, whose son was killed on October 7, 2023, while serving in the IDF.
The event will be moderated by Esther Vrataryova, an author, producer, and spokesperson for the organization @humanitynk (rescue from TOT). The 'Jewish Library' series is realized with the assistance of the communications agency 'Ideas & Strategy'. This series features world bestsellers related to Jews and Israel, published in Ukrainian for the first time.
Admission to the presentation will be free, but prior registration is required. The informational partners of the event include Channel 5, 'We-Ukraine', NV, OBOZ.ua, RBC-Ukraine, and Telegraf.
Thus, everyone interested has the opportunity to join this significant event, which not only highlights current historical events but also fosters the development of cultural dialogue in Ukraine.
