Presentation of Michael Bar-Zohar's Book: Kyiv Connects with Israel in the Fight Against Terrorism

A recent book presentation in Kyiv highlighted the significant ties between Ukraine and Israel in addressing contemporary challenges posed by terrorism.

In the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, a book presentation took place recently featuring the renowned Israeli historian and author Michael Bar-Zohar. The book, titled "Iron Swords, Wounded Hearts," focuses on Israel's response to the terrorist attacks by Hamas, a topic that resonates deeply in the context of the modern challenges faced by both Israel and Ukraine. The Ukrainian edition of the book was presented at the "Knygolend" bookstore, attracting attention from numerous representatives of the cultural and political communities.

Among the attendees was Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) and deputy head of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. He emphasized the relevance of the book to the Ukrainian context, noting that the themes addressed in the book are extremely close and important for Ukraine. "The book 'Iron Swords, Wounded Hearts' resonates strongly in Ukraine, as it discusses war crimes, crimes against humanity, atrocities, and the murder of civilians. These are crimes that are also being committed by Russians in Ukraine," Yusov highlighted.

Yusov also pointed out that the publication, like the entire series "Jewish Library," generates significant interest among representatives of Ukrainian special services. According to him, complete sets of this series are available, including with the head of HUR Oleg Ivashchenko and his predecessor Kyrylo Budanov, which indicates the importance of the themes raised in the books of this series.

The presentation of "Iron Swords, Wounded Hearts" was made possible by the publishing house "Nash Format" and with the support of the co-founders of the company, General Chereshnya Yaroslav and Stanislav Gryshyn. During the event, Boris Lozhkin, president of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine and vice president of the World Jewish Congress, expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the publication of the book and hoped that the works of General Chereshnya would be utilized in the fight against the "axis of evil" that currently stretches from Ukraine to the Middle East.

The author himself, Michael Bar-Zohar, joined the presentation online. He underscored his support for Ukraine, stating: "The world admires the courage of Ukrainians." This statement became a symbol of solidarity between the two countries facing aggression and terrorism.

The informational partners of the event, organized by the communication agency Ideas & Strategy, included media outlets such as 5 Channel, My-Ukraine, NV, Oboz, RBC-Ukraine, and Telegraf. The presentation was moderated by producer and spokesperson of the public organization Humanity, Esther Vrataryova, who facilitated a dynamic and substantive dialogue among the participants.

This presentation not only drew attention to important issues related to war and terrorism but also served as a significant step in strengthening the ties between Ukraine and Israel, both of which are navigating complex times amid contemporary challenges.
