Polish Prime Minister Tusk: Current NATO Situation is Putin's Dream

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has voiced significant concerns over the current geopolitical landscape, particularly regarding the potential withdrawal of the United States from NATO and the hindrance of financial assistance to Ukraine. In his statement delivered on Thursday, April 2, Tusk described these occurrences as a scenario that aligns perfectly with the aspirations of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"The threat of NATO disintegration, the easing of sanctions against Russia, a widespread energy crisis in Europe, the cessation of aid to Ukraine, and the blocking of loans for Kyiv by [Viktor] Orban — all of this appears to be simply Putin's dream plan," Tusk emphasized, highlighting the seriousness of the situation at hand.

It is crucial to note that on April 1, U.S. President Donald Trump, in an interview with The Telegraph, mentioned the possibility of the United States withdrawing from NATO. This statement came after NATO allies declined to support him in his military endeavors against Iran. Trump, who had previously asserted that the United States did not require assistance in its conflict with the Tehran regime, reiterated in a post on his social media platform Truth Social on March 17 that he "always knew that the Alliance would never help the U.S."

In the context of these developments, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban continues to block the provision of a €90 billion European Union loan to Ukraine. This decision has sparked outrage not only in Ukraine but also among neighboring countries that support Kyiv in its struggle for independence and territorial integrity.

On March 23, Polish President Karol Nawrocki visited Hungary, ostensibly to celebrate Polish-Hungarian Friendship Day. However, Prime Minister Tusk sharply criticized this visit, stating that meetings with Viktor Orban contradict Poland's interests. This incident reflects the growing tensions between Warsaw and Budapest, particularly concerning support for Ukraine.
