Kyiv Police Arrest Local Man After Nighttime Shooting Incident

A local resident, a 33-year-old man, became the subject of an incident that occurred in the Darnytskyi district, where he initiated a shooting due to a conflict that arose between two groups. According to the press service of the Kyiv police, the shooting took place in the early hours of Sunday when a group of individuals gathered near a building on Dragomanova Street.
The conflict that erupted between the groups led to one participant, armed with a device for firing rubber bullets, discharging several shots. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of this incident, and no victims were reported. However, the mere fact of the shooting raised concerns among local residents who witnessed the event.
Law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene promptly detained the shooter in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They also confiscated the weapon used to commit the crime, namely the device for firing rubber bullets. Investigative actions are currently ongoing, and details of the incident have already been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations. In accordance with part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, a criminal proceeding has been initiated for hooliganism. The police are actively working to establish all circumstances surrounding the offense, as well as to clarify the reasons behind the conflict that led to the shooting.
