The aggressors launched these drones from several Russian cities, including Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Additionally, drones were also deployed from the temporarily occupied Crimean region, specifically from a location known as Hvardiyiske, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk.
It was noted that approximately 70 of the drones used in this assault were of the strike type known as Shahed. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the aerial attack was countered by a combination of aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned aerial systems, and mobile fire groups from the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The recent escalation in drone attacks highlights the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russian forces, which has seen a significant increase in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as a means of warfare. The Ukrainian military has been working tirelessly to bolster its air defense capabilities in response to these threats, employing a range of strategies to mitigate the impact of such attacks.
The use of drones in modern warfare has become a focal point of military strategies on both sides, with each side adapting to the evolving landscape of combat. The Ukrainian Air Force's ability to intercept and neutralize a majority of the incoming drones showcases their operational effectiveness and the importance of air defense in protecting the nation's sovereignty.
As the conflict continues, the international community remains watchful of the developments in Ukraine, with many countries expressing support for Ukraine's defense efforts. The situation serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by Ukraine as it seeks to defend its territory against foreign aggression.
