Ukrainian Air Defense Neutralizes 114 Out of 141 Enemy Drones in Overnight Attack

In the early hours of April 5, Russian occupation forces launched an extensive aerial assault involving 141 strike drones targeting various locations across Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that their air defense systems successfully neutralized 114 of these drones, showcasing the effectiveness of their defensive measures against aerial threats.

The attack commenced at 6 PM on Sunday, with the enemy deploying drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others. These unmanned aerial vehicles were launched from multiple directions, including Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from Gvardeyskoye and Chauda in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.

According to the Air Force, approximately 80 of the drones involved in the assault were identified as Shahed types, which have been used frequently in previous attacks. The Ukrainian air defense forces worked diligently throughout the night, and by 8 AM, preliminary reports indicated that they had successfully shot down or suppressed 114 enemy drones of various types across the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.

Furthermore, the Air Force confirmed that there were recorded impacts from 26 strike drones across 17 locations, with debris from the downed drones falling in 13 different areas. In a statement from the Ukrainian Air Force, officials emphasized the ongoing nature of the threat, stating, "The attack continues, and there are several enemy drones in the airspace.
