Over 90,000 Ukrainians Have Submitted Declarations of Property and Income: How Many Millionaires Are Among Them
As of today, more than 90,000 Ukrainians have submitted their income and property declarations, indicating a significant engagement in the declaration process, which is crucial for financial transparency and accountability.
According to information provided by the State Tax Service of Ukraine, as of today, over 90,000 Ukrainians have submitted their income and property declarations. This reflects active participation by citizens in the declaration process, which is an important element of financial transparency and accountability. According to data released by Ukrinform, the total amount of personal income tax and military levy that citizens have declared to pay amounts to 1.6 billion hryvnias. This figure is 560 million hryvnias higher than last year, indicating a growth in the population's income.
Among those who submitted declarations, 8,300 individuals declared incomes exceeding 1 million hryvnias. The total amount of their declared incomes reached 38.2 billion hryvnias, with tax obligations they identified amounting to nearly 1.1 billion hryvnias. These figures underscore the fact that millionaires in Ukraine continue to play an important role in shaping the country's tax base.
It is noteworthy that the largest share of declared incomes comes from inheritance and gifts, which together account for 6.6 billion hryvnias. Foreign income for Ukrainians totaled 3.4 billion hryvnias, while income from property sales was 1.8 billion hryvnias, income from property rentals reached 1.2 billion hryvnias, investment income amounted to 1 billion hryvnias, and other incomes totaled 971.2 million hryvnias. These numbers indicate the diversity of income sources from which Ukrainians derive their funds.
The highest amount of tax obligations resulting from declarations was reported by a resident of the Khmelnytskyi region, who committed to pay over 18.3 million hryvnias. This suggests that in Ukraine, there are not only millionaires but also individuals with extraordinarily high incomes that significantly impact tax revenues.
Among the regions of Ukraine demonstrating the largest volumes of declared incomes, the capital city, Kyiv, leads with 16.3 billion hryvnias declared. The Dnipropetrovsk region follows in second place with 6.6 billion hryvnias, followed by the Lviv region with 6.0 billion hryvnias and the Kyiv region with 5.8 billion hryvnias. These data reflect economic activity in these regions, as well as the concentration of the highest incomes.
Additionally, over 42,000 citizens have taken advantage of the right to a tax deduction. The total amount of personal income tax eligible for refund is 291.6 million hryvnias, which is 52 million hryvnias more than last year. This indicates that Ukrainians are actively utilizing the opportunities provided by legislation to reduce their tax obligations.
It is worth reminding that in March, the general fund of the state budget received 169.4 billion hryvnias in taxes and fees controlled by the State Tax Service. The revenue plan was fulfilled at 101.9%, indicating the successful performance of the tax service. An additional 3.1 billion hryvnias was also received by the budget, which is a positive indicator for the country's financial system.
