Over 200 Ukrainian Experts Currently in Five Middle Eastern Countries, Stay Duration Not Limited – NSDC
More than 200 Ukrainian experts are currently deployed in five countries of the Gulf region to assist partners in combating drones, particularly Iranian 'Shaheds', according to David Aloyan, Deputy Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
More than 200 Ukrainian experts are currently in five countries of the Gulf region, providing assistance to partners in the fight against drones, specifically Iranian 'Shahed' drones. This information was disclosed by David Aloyan, Deputy Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), during a media briefing on Wednesday.
Aloyan stated that Ukrainian specialists are already demonstrating positive results in their activities, which encompass various fields and domains. 'Over 200 experts in five countries. Their work is taking place across different domains and areas. They are already showing results in defense, countering 'Shaheds', and other drones,' he noted.
It is important to mention that the duration of the Ukrainian experts' stay in the Gulf countries currently does not have specific limitations. 'I cannot comment on how long they will be there; we will see. They are working there, and so far, I have not heard of any restrictions or time frames. We view this cooperation as long-term, and it will scale up: not only in the areas that currently exist but also by including other domains,' Aloyan emphasized.
However, the Deputy Secretary of the NSDC pointed out that due to the sensitivity of the information, he cannot provide specific details regarding the results of the experts' work. 'Ukraine's partners are very satisfied with the results,' he added, underscoring the importance of cooperation with international partners.
It is worth recalling that on March 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the dispatch of 201 military specialists to Middle Eastern countries to support efforts in repelling drone attacks. Just three days later, on March 20, he reported that 228 Ukrainian experts were working in the Middle East, indicating Ukraine's growing role in international security and defense.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy by Ukraine aimed at strengthening international ties and enhancing security levels in the region. Cooperation with Middle Eastern countries could become a crucial element in addressing new challenges faced by the world, particularly in the areas of security and defense.
