The National Opera of Ukraine is in mourning following the death of its prominent soloist, Honored Artist of Ukraine Petro Pryimak. This tragic news was announced by the theater's chief director Anatoliy Solovyanenko on his Facebook page.

The National Opera of Ukraine has plunged into sorrow after the passing of its distinguished soloist, Honored Artist of Ukraine Petro Pryimak. The tragic news was shared by the theater's chief director, Anatoliy Solovyanenko, on his Facebook page, indicating that the morning of Palm Sunday brought the sad tidings of the artist's departure to eternity, a figure who was an integral part of the country's theatrical life.

"The morning of Palm Sunday has brought us the sad news — the leading soloist of the theater, Honored Artist of Ukraine Petro Pryimak, has passed away. It is hard to believe, it is hard to accept, for just the day before yesterday he sang in the opera Carmen — as it turned out, for the last time... May you rest in peace, dear friend..." wrote Solovyanenko, expressing his condolences and grief.

The cause of Petro Pryimak's death is currently unknown. It is reported that on April 17, the artist was scheduled to perform in the production of Faust, but now his participation in this performance has become impossible due to his sudden loss.

Petro Pryimak graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory, where he studied in the vocal faculty, specializing in baritone. Since 1993, he had been a soloist with the opera troupe of the National Opera of Ukraine, where he became well-known for his talented performances. In addition to his stage career, Pryimak also taught vocal at the National Music Academy of Ukraine, passing on his knowledge and experience to young artists.

Petro Pryimak had a twin brother, Pavlo, who was also a soloist at the National Opera of Ukraine. Tragically, Pavlo lost his life in a car accident at the age of 56 in October 2023, marking another heavy loss for the family and the theatrical community.

Petro Pryimak is survived by his wife, son, and daughter, who are now grappling with this profound loss. His family and colleagues from the theater remember him as a talented artist and a kind person, whose creativity and personality will leave a lasting impression in the hearts of many.

It is worth noting that on March 29 of this year, Ukrainian actor, comedian, and former member of the comedy troupe Masks, Volodymyr Komarov, also passed away. The cause of his death was heart failure. Additionally, at the age of 88, Ukrainian film director, actor, and People's Artist of Ukraine Vilen Novak also passed away. These losses highlight how swiftly and unpredictably life can change, leaving behind the bitterness of loss for loved ones and art enthusiasts.
