Police Search for Attacker Who Fatally Wounded Military Serviceman in Lviv

On April 2 in Lviv, a horrific incident unfolded when an unknown attacker fatally injured a serviceman from the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC). According to the National Police of Ukraine, a special operation is currently underway to track down the criminal.

At approximately 2:15 PM, a report was received on the emergency hotline 102 that during notification activities on Paton Street in Lviv, a TRC serviceman became the victim of an assault. An unidentified man approached him and inflicted a knife wound to his neck before fleeing the scene.

Despite the efforts of medical personnel who arrived promptly at the scene, the serviceman could not survive and died in the hospital. This tragic incident has sparked widespread public and law enforcement concern.

The National Police of Ukraine has stated that criminal police operatives, investigators, patrol officers, and personnel from other police services are involved in the investigation of the crime. They are working diligently to establish the identity of the attacker and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In connection with this incident, a criminal proceeding has been initiated under paragraph 8 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which stipulates liability for intentional murder. The perpetrator faces a penalty of imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
